First thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at my humble wood works, it is greatly appreciated and I am always honored.
The lamp you are looking at above, Savannah, I turned from a wood called Wenge [wɛŋɡeɪ/ WENG-gay]. It is a unique piece in my collection as it features a wood I have not used before in any of my electric lamps. Wenge is considered an exotic hardwood for us in the United States and as you can see from the pictures it is a wood that boasts a warm, bold, uniform, alternating grain pattern in chocolate brown and ebony; this is actually the wood's natural color it has not been altered in any way. The brass disks are solid brass as is all of this lamp's hardware. The 2-light cluster featured on this lamp has horizontal, s-shaped arms providing beauty and function and looks great with a pair of Globe Electric Vintage Edison S60 Squirrel Cage E26 Incandescent Filament Light Bulbs
The wood body of the lamp is 3" at the top and tapers to 1-5/8" at the brass base. The base is solid, spun brass measuring 11" wide; the overall height of this lamp from floor to finial is 74". This lamp does not ship with a shade.
